the item would need to be mediatype=texts for those derives to be made. the original transcript would need to be a pdf.

The original transcripts were uploaded as PDFs. So when I want to upload a video with a PDF document, the video "takes precedence" and I can't get all the possible text formats to show up for the transcript? Is this correct? Would it help if I uploaded the video then uploaded the transcript separately? My goal is to have as many formats as possible for both the video and transcript.

you could either:
• upload the pdf first which will create a texts item. then using edit add the video file. or
• upload the pdf separately and include links in the description fields so people can find the other related item.
